Former CNN host Don Lemon announced on Wednesday that he is leaving X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory. In his video message, Lemon expressed gratitude to his followers, thanking them for their support over the years. “I have loved connecting with you all on Twitter and then on X for all of these years. But it’s time for me to leave the platform,” he said. He shared his disappointment with the platform’s recent changes, stating, “I once believed that it was a place for honest debate and discussion, transparency, and free speech. But I now feel it does not serve that purpose.”
Lemon also cited concerns over X’s updated terms of service, which require lawsuits against the platform to be filed in the U.S. Southern District of District in Tarrant County. He pointed out that experts suggest this change could favor the platform and limit criticism. He concluded by encouraging his audience to keep up with his content on other platforms, without mentioning his own recent challenges in launching a new show after parting ways with CNN due to previous controversies.
